2 hours. That's how long research shows we must spend in nature each week in order to reap the staggering benefits nature provides. It can be spread over a week, but it cannot be less than 2 hours.
Benefits of spending time in nature include: lowered blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduced nervous system arousal, improved immune system function, increased self-esteem, reduced anxiety, improved mood, reduced aggression, reduced ADD, faster healing, reduced feelings of isolation, increased feelings of being calm, lifted mood. And elevated levels of Natural Killer or NK cells in the immune system, which fight tumors and infections. Blue skies, y'all. See you on the trails!
